Q3 Blog 2 Deductive

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System is one of the best transportation systems in the country. MTS was named the Outstanding Transit System in 2009 by the American Public Transportation Association. The MTS is used by many citizens to get to jobs, school or even to get a tour of San Diego. The most significant reason why citizens use the MTS is because they will save themselves from spending more money than needed to get to where they need to go. The use of this system may soon be increasing, because of the recent increases in gasoline prices, that show no indication of reduction. At the current moment, the average cost of nine tenths of a gallon is three dollars and sevety seven cents at a nearby gas station, and it is only going to get higher. With a small car that can carry fifteen gallons of gasoline, filling the tank would cost sixty two dollars with eighty three cents. This would be a cheaper alternative to a city public transportation pass that costs seventy two dollars a month, but only if a person can make their gasoline last for a month before needing to refuel again. Also, a person would need a small car with fifteen gallons to spend less than seventy two dollars a month. With this fact, people considering a car as their primary means of transportation should first seriously consider taking the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System. For example, my sister Maricela is thinking about getting a car to get to school. Looking at the price of gas alone, and ignoring all other costs associated with owning a car, such as insurance and parking passes, the lesser expensive option would be to take public transportation. Many schools even offer discounted prices on semester or monthly passes. This should further entice my sister to take public transportation to school.by doing this, she would have more money to spend on things like tuition, materials and anything else she might need like everyday necessities, such as food.
It could also mean that she would not need to get a job for the sole purpose of gasoline for a car. Not needing to work would mean more free time, which could balance out the additional time it might take to get to school with public transportation, versus a car. Also, more time could potentially mean add more time for school work and studying. For these reasons, my sister whould take public transportation to school, so she can save money just as many San Diego citizens do.
